Running class 5 Rigormortis on Clear Creek in Colorado, I knew I absolutely didn’t want to hit the hole on river left. But dropping into a hole just upstream flipped my riverboard upside down, leaving me deep in the water basically swimming on my own. As I kicked hard for the right, my foot hit a rock, and I instinctively pushed off of it and jumped. This stunning photo was the result.

I hit my line.
