The Patriots are still undefeated, but barely…the lowly EAGLES almost beat them. I was hanging off the edge ready to leap back over to the Cowboys wagon where I belong, but they pulled out the win.

Which begs the question: what happens when greatness isn’t all that great?

Michael Jordan missed his share of potentially game-winning shots. Etc. So…

Really with this year’s Patriots I just love that everybody hates them and they’re relishing that role and destroying people. Or, were. If they lose, no matter who it’s to, I’m off, because then they’re just another good team that couldn’t get it done.

And the remainder of their schedule leaves them NO EXCUSES for not going undefeated and beating either Green Bay or my beloved Cowboys in the Super Bowl, and being crowned the greatest team in history.

Watching them destroy teams is fascinating. Watching them struggle against the 5-6 Eagles – the EAGLES, puhlease! – was painful. All the more because being a lifelong Cowboys fan I hate the Eagles. ;-)

So I hope they blow out the Ravens next Monday night. If not I’ll be disappointed. I think heroes are important, those who are victorious above and beyond, those who reach the level of "G.O.A.T" stature.

And as Godin suggests in the dip, if you can’t possibly be the greatest at something, QUIT! Stop doing it! Find something where you CAN possibly be the best, and go do that.

Selah.
