That would explain why there was a skiff of snow outside when I woke up this morning, in Portland, at the END OF MARCH.

Uh huh.

It’s actually called "we’re in a cycle of the earth where the summers get hotter and the winters get colder, thus removing most of spring and fall." Which is actually disconcerting for me, because it means that all that huge amount of snowpack could come rambling down the mountains in just a couple quick months…which would make for an epic, but short, whitewater season.

It happens every few thousand years. Some people say it’s because the earth is about to blow up, but whether or not that’s true, one thing definitely is NOT – that my SUV is warming shizzy up.
