I think it’s so wrong what they’re doing to Michael Vick. “They” being the US G*vernment, simply to make an example of a black man who gambled without cutting them in on it. (Great blog by Dr. Peter Browne about the subject here) Oh, I absolutely believe that, yes. This has nothing at all to do with killing dogs – the F*ds don’t blink killing thousands of people, you think they care about “6 to 8” pitbulls? No. It’s just messed up that a guy is forfeiting $100 MILLLION DOLLARS because he killed a few dogs THAT HE PAID FOR. HE OWNED THEM! HE SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING HE WANTS WITH THEM, THEY ARE DOGS!
I don’t condone killing dogs for sport, or any furry mammal, for that matter. I’m not against hunting if you’re going to eat the meat, but that’s where I draw the line. So I’m not saying dogfighting is good. I’ve had my share of dogs, and I loved each one – I know the pain of losing an old friend, of holding my dog’s head in my hands as he got put to sleep. I’ve felt that emotional pain.
BUT.
Michael Vick did nothing wrong, if America were Capitalistic and functioning according to rational, constitutional principles.
If:
– he owned his land
– he owned his kennels
– he owned his dogs
THEN HE IS FREE TO DO WHATEVER THE HELL HE WANTS WITH THEM.
End of story. Because if he can’t have some friendly wagers with his buddies over dogfights, if he’s going to forfeit $100 MILLION DOLLARS for killing a few dogs and making a few $10,000 bets, if they’re seizing everything he “owns” because of his alleged “crimes”…
WHAT WILL PREVENT THEM FROM COMING TO YOUR HOUSE AND TAKING YOU AWAY BECAUSE YOU DISCIPLINED YOUR KIDS? What if you forgot to mow the lawn, or didn’t take out the trash, or wore the same underwear two days in a row? What if they just don’t like you?
It seems like any reason is justification these days…which is exactly what happens when society removes INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS.
We are quickly losing all individual rights in America. And Michael Vick is one more horrible, tragic, heart-breaking reminder of how overbearing and unconstitutional our g*vernment has become.
Of course, by the edict that Doubleyoo forced into law in July, my saying this could brand me a f*cking terrorist. Ridiculous. This post, according to that law, gives them legal ground to take all I have and take me away.
