I read a book that challenged me this morning. It’s written by a friend who has truly been a friend to me over the last few years.

I’m one who shies away from mysticism and much prefers things which can be explained logically. And yet, I am moved by Matt’s stories of divine intervention, of “dominoes falling” in a manner that can, truly, only be explained as miraculous.

I’m moved because I’ve lived similar experiences in my own life, where my failures have in the end been the catalyst for positive things, and where the hand of the Creator was unmistakably present.

Matt quotes Einstein in the book, and I think, for me, this is a succinct statement of what a rational and yet spiritual worldview should be:

“There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle.” -Albert Einstein
